Kravitz Deli

Rose Kravitz opened what was then the Elm Street Delicatessen in 1939 as a neighborhood corner store serving her Jewish neighbors' specialty foods. In 1970 the deli moved to the Colonial Plaza on Belmont Avenue, where it is now the oldest operating business on the street. Her son Jack later expanded it, and a new family continues the legacy today, with catering and a second location in Salem.
