About Tony Packo's.
Tony Packo, born in Toledo to Hungarian immigrants, opened a sandwich and ice cream shop with his wife Rose in 1932 and created the Hungarian hot dog, made with kolbasz sausage and served sliced in half. The wedge-shaped building at Front and Consaul Streets became the Original Tony Packo's. Since Burt Reynolds signed a bun in 1972, celebrities have added signed buns to its Bun Wall of Fame. The family business also sells pickles, peppers and chili and has other Toledo-area locations.
